Guests can begin their mornings with complimentary continental breakfasts and enjoy room service until late evening. Black and white tiled bathrooms with pedestal sinks are nearly dizzying with visual appeal. The checkerboard lobby rug, inspired by vintage New York checker cabs, is an optical illusion repeated throughout this Manhattan hotel.The hotel's restaurant, Asia de Cuba, fuses Asian and Latino cuisine, the Morgans Bar features artistic furniture and candlelit cocktails. The fourth floor "Living Room" is an exclusive lounge for guests, offering a wide selection of teas, coffee, CDs, books and other conveniences throughout the day. Morgans also features complimentary use of a nearby fitness center, concierge service, limousines and Town Cars, business services, currency exchange, dry cleaning, and child care. Guestrooms include rich fabrics of raw silk, brushed suede, cashmere and corded velvet. Morgans was designed by Andree Putman and is situated four blocks from the Empire State Building. Original signed photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe hang on the walls. The Morgans Hotel, centrally located in New York City, N.Y., just under 20 miles from La Guardia and JFK Airports, started the iconic boutique hotel trend in 1985. The guestrooms also include refrigerators with in-room refreshments, custom window seats, down comforters and 330-thread count sheets, private cleaning, and private direct telephone numbers. Fax machines, portable telephones, CD players and computers are available upon request.
