 Hotel Description:

From the Carlton, guests will feel the pulse of the city that never sleeps.Undergoing light construction ending 5/05. Built at the beginning of the 20th century, this attractive Beaux-arts building kept many of its original features while getting refitted with modern conveniences and sprucing up the inside with contemporary décor. The Carlton Hotel offers guests the residential feel of Manhattan while simultaneously being near the top attractions and locations. So are the Empire State Building, Penn Station, Macy's Herald Square, Madison Square Garden, Times Square, Fifth Avenue shopping, the Broadway Theater District and the funky Greenwich Village. Still, the Carlton is located conveniently between Midtown's attractions and the heart of the business, shopping and entertainment districts where restaurants, bistros and cafes are just strolls away. Guests also receive complimentary admission to an area health club. The rooms are equipped with mahogany furnishings, Frette linens, fabrics by Scalamandre, safes, work desks, 27-inch stereo/cable TVs, video games, movies, and Gilchrist & Soames English designer toiletries. New York's newest grand old hotel, the Carlton is located between the Murray Hill and Gramercy Park neighborhoods where tree-lined streets make guests feel they're staying at a house rather than the crowded center of Midtown Manhattan. Guest access is not effected. It will house a two-story atrium lobby with waterfalls, a European-style health club and spa, and a restaurant and bar, which will offer 24-hour room service. Guest services agents help patrons with theater tickets, dinner reservations and airport transportation. More amenities and renovations are coming in the multi-million-dollar project, including an adjacent building scheduled for completion mid- 2005. The guest rooms are newly refurbished with attractive, eclectic décor.
